I am a Licensed Professional Counselor & Psychotherapist, Approved Clinical Supervisor, Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, and Scholar. I approach the psychotherapy process by building a strong therapeutic alliance and strive to join clients in discovering their needs and desires. I am focused on being with rather than doing in psychotherapy.

My approach is rooted in a psychodynamic/analytic framework and my post-graduate continuing education in Modern Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.

Additionally, I completed specialized play therapy training, earning a Mindfulness-Based Play Family Therapy certification. I also invested in training in Sandtray (Family & Play Therapy Center) and Sandplay (Intensive Training Week ISST).

I have extensive experience providing play therapy to children (ages 3-18) and families across schools, community mental health centers, group private practice, and partial hospitalization programs.

Clinical Supervision and Training

I am an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) & Registered Play Therapist- Supervisor (RPT-S) with specialized training in clinical supervision. During my doctoral program, I completed two courses focused on supervision, each including a practicum and internship where I supervised Master’s students in groups and triads. Besides my private practice, I serve as a tenure-track Counseling professor and teach the Foundations of Clinical Supervision course every Fall. My supervision experience spans individual, triadic, and group settings for master’s students, pre-licensed entry-level counselors, and experienced mental health professionals. I have published peer-reviewed research on clinical supervision and training.

I am an engaged leader in my field, having presented at various professional conferences and with my research published and cited in peer-reviewed journals. I continue my creative work and writing through a bi-monthly publication: The Inner Canvas Collective Substack.
