Session Overview: This session complements the Person of the Play Therapist PI (orientation and theory). In this session, the play therapy relationship, countertransference, and therapist wellness are reviewed. Participants are invited to consider strategies for supervision, consultation, and self-care as a Play Therapist.

Learning objectives:
Describe the countertransference experiences that play therapists may have during play therapy sessions.
Identify how cultural factors may influence countertransference experiences during play therapy.
Demonstrate methods for play therapists to identify and manage their own emotions and reactions within the play therapy process and relationship.
Develop a strategy for supervision, consultation, and taking care of oneself as a Play Therapist.
